That would be so very very cool. A very very aged General Zod and a young Superman.

I wonder about the chick and the bearded dude, if they will be back to?

He is the original General Zod. Real old now. He is in a lot of movies, can't think of any right now...

he was the old dude in Electra. Oh yeah, he was the chancellor in Star Wars Episode One. The one who lost to Palpy.

Huh...

I remember what he looks like in Superman II, but don't really remember seeing him in anything else. I guess he does look like Chancellor Whatsimahbob.

He's done a bunch of movies. I think he is the voice of Jor-El on Smallville as well.

Stamp did this movie called The Limey which was really good.

He's done a lot of movies, nothing as big as Superman 2 I think.

Read online he's going to be in the new Get Smart movie.

Yep, he plays the voice of Jor-El on Smallville. He has also played some kick-ass blind man in something... I think it was Elektra??

Whattup SD, it's been a second. I'd say happy T-day, but wasn't yours in October? Lucky.

Never saw Elektra though. Garner is the hottness, movie looked a little poop though.

It was real slow, but the effects were cool.

Yeah, the movie was slow as hell.

Just came in here to say this movie seems to have been dubbed "Superman: Man of Steel."

Awesome name. Completely predictable though.

True.

Have you noticed movie sequel titles are kind of pompous now? Like they're too good for a number or have to 'reboot' with a catchy tongue-in-cheek name.

Rocky Balboa
John Rambo
Star Trek
Batman Begins
Superman Returns

Absolutely true. Though the Batman franchise has been like that since Tim Burton had a go at it.

Batman Begins 2 is just called "The Dark Knight", which I think is kinda cool. It seems like Superman Returns 2 is called Superman: Man Of Steel... with the Superman bit still stuck on the front of it there.

They they'll probably just put the big S there.

I like the shorter pompous titles compared to the longer pompous titles.

There are a few new trailers online. By a few, I mean specifically 2. They're exactly the same except one has Jor-El doing the voice over while another has Pa Kent doing the voice over.

They're on one page at aintitcool news, so I'll just link that.

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/57178

My only question is: why the hell is Superman hitchhiking? I mean, perhaps they're trying to make him seem deep, but I kind of think it makes him look like an idiot.

It made me tear up a little. Synder makes me cringe some, but it looks like Nolan is getting him to do what he wants. That looks bad ass!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure yet. Seeing him fly was pretty cool, I can get with this. But we've been burned with too many Superman movies in the past.

Plus, Superman isn't Batman. I hope Nolan and the other writer realize that.

Synder did well with 300. Sucker Punch sucked big time. Watchmen was somewhere in the middle.

I'm not sure he can direct without someone pulling the strings. I hope Nolan and him are the right mix of direction and producer and it somehow works.

The Lord of the Rings music for Superman was unexpected, I will give them that.

Flight scene was cool. Why Superman wants to be a Crap (crab) fisher is beyond me, but it is the toughest job in world, it kind of makes sense. Anything but newspaper man. That job went out of style 20 years ago or more.

He'll be a newspaper man some way through the movie, I have no doubt. But you're right: it's going out. I wonder how they'll deal with the fact that "reporting" as a newspaper traditionally did it is basically obsolete now. Clark Kent, blogger extraordinaire? Maybe he'll work for wikileaks.

I wonder if they'll include an explanation of why people can't tell Clark Kent is Superman. I mean, yeah, he's pretty inconspicuous with the different hair do and glasses and that, but it's still a bit ridiculous. I think there was an 'alien power' excuse given a while ago, but that's a bit silly.

I haven't seen Sucker Punch. Heard so many bad things. I may get around to it one day.

Sucker Punch was just badly edited and directed and some of the fight scenes were really cool, but it was so boring and stupid, they didn't make up for it.

Also, the ending was really brutal, nasty and horrific. Made me sick and gave me nightmares.

Seems to me that if Superman really existed, he would say "screw the job, I'm gonna be Superman all the time!" No Clark, no bogus job, no car payment, no taxes.

He just stays in the Superman outfit, fights crime all the time, goes to nightclubs in the suit and picks up women, overthrows governments, helps out with missions to Mars, etc. Why all the newspaper, secret life bull?

I guess that's how he keeps his eat to the ground and finds out about events.... 10 minutes after they happen. Yeah, no, it's not even to be able to find out who needs saving. I'm stumped, to be honest.

Maybe it's to keep him 'human'. Like how Superman gives Batman a piece of kryptonite to ensure if he ever goes out of control, Batman can bring him down. Basically if he didn't have the "Clark" side to him, there'd be no humanity left in him. He wouldn't be grounded.

That being said, I imagine he'd be better off being a welfare officer or something where you're actually making a difference. Not being a lecherous reporter.

Yeah, I've heard about Sucker Punches fantasy rape scenes and stuff. The whole thing kind of fascinates me, but I've heard so many bad things, I just can't see myself taking the dive.

I have both the theatrical and directors cut on my computer. So if one day I really feel up to it, I can check it out.

It was the end scene with Don Draper from Mad Men that still makes me flinch. Ughhhh........

You will know what I'm talking about when you watch it.
