I've wanted to read Lovely Bones for a long, long time, but can't really bring myself to do it. I figure I'll wait for the Peter Jackson movie...

The Dragon Riders of Pern, or something like that. It's alright, but you don't really get a clear or shall I say vivid picture of who the characters are.

I'm reading a book about ghost hauntings. It's just a bunch of different accounts of hauntings. It's supposed to be true. But I guess that really depends on how much you believe in ghosts. It's interesting though.

"I Am Legend"

I want to read it before the movie comes out in December. I LOVE Will Smith, and the movie looks good. So, I'm sure that I will dig on the book.

It's called Weird Hauntings True Tales of Ghostly Places. It's compiled by Joanne Austin and Illustrated by Ryan Doan.

It even tells about New Orleans and the LaLaurie masion. That one is pretty gruesome. The LaLaurie's had dozens of slaves (this was in 1832) and I'll just suffice it to say that Mrs. LaLaurie wasn't very nice to them.

The short one about a place in Wisconsin called "Chicken Alley" is definitely interesting. Supposedly, there are phantom chickens that like to play in the road.

It's pretty good if you want a good ghost story.

hahahaha my wife's like that, but kind of the opposite. Like I'll get paper back books worth about 10 bucks, she'll get a book as well, except it'll be like a 50 dollar text book sort of whatsie. By the time we get to the check out, she's got all these expensive books, and I end up putting 2 or 3 of my books back so we can better afford whatever she got.

... hmm... I kinda got a bum deal, don't I?

Raymond Feist's Midkemia books:

The Riftwar-Series:
Magician (1982)
Silverthorn (1985)
A Darkness at Sethanon (1986)

Serpentwar-Series:
Prince of the Blood (1989)
The King's Buccaneer (1992)

The Empire-Sequence:
written with Janny Wurts
Daughter of the Empire (1987)
Servant of the Empire (1990)
Mistress of the Empire (1992)

The Serpentwar-Saga:
Shadow of a Dark Queen (1994)
Rise of a Merchant Prince (1995)
Rage of a Demon King (1997)
Shards of a Broken Crown (1998)

The Riftwar Legacy:
Krondor: the Betrayal (1998)
Krondor: the Assassins (September 1999)
Krondor: Tear of the Gods (2000)

The Conclave of Shadows:
Talon of the Silver Hawk (2003)
King of Foxes (2004)
Exile's Return (2005)

This guy has created an entire world of fantasy and all the books are based there. I haven't read the last trilogy but I've read the rest of them. Start at the beginning and just keep going ... it does jump around a bit as the Riftwar legacy books are kind of set in between the rift war and the serpent war series' to fill in some of the gaps in the characters lives.

The empire series is the riftwar series, but as seen from the other sides point of view, which an amazing idea!

I love his books - all the fantasy staples, elves, dwarves, magic, etc but the land (Midkemia) in which its set is obviously so real in his mind, he really brings it all to life.

I have a confession to make...i love to read, but I usually only read kids books! I love the Harry Potter series, the Septimus heap series, I've read the Charlie Bone books, the Children of the Lamp series, I have like 12 books on my shelf waiting to be read:
The Fall of the Templar...Book 3 of the Grey Griffins
The Day of the Djinn Warriors- Book 3 of Children of The Lamp
The Candy Shop War by Brandon Mull...he wrote the fantasy books Fablehaven 1 and 2
The Beast of Noor by ? Carey...I started this awhile ago and then got another book I wanted to read more, so I stopped reading...it was pretty slow anyway.
The Other Boleyn Girl by Phillippa Gregory. our McKesson sales rep recommended this to me ages ago! I hope to get to it soon!
Gideon the Cutpurse...not really sure what it's about, but I'll read it and let you know!
I also have some church books I just got for Christmas...the Moroni Code...it's a mystery (WHICH I LOVE), and one called Meet your match...I'm sure it's a parody on the thrills of dating...the same author wrote another one called Rules of Engagement...it was hilarious...so I'm excited.
I have to finish the book I'm reading currently...which is the most recent in the Alex rider series...Snakehead by Anthony Horowitz...pretty great so far! I read the first 5 sorry 6, in the series...so I'll be sucked in until the author runs out of ideas!...It's basically about a kid I think who;s like 14 or 15 that is working for British Intelligence...but not because he wants to. They keep finding someway of coercing him into it...they even loaned him to the Americans and the Austrailans to help out their versions of MI-6. It's kept me interested for 6 books, so I'll keep on reading!

Ok I finally finsished Snakehead...it was good. I also read another book yesterday when I was bored. It's from a church bookstore, so you won't care what it's called. It was funny though. I'm going to start another book tomorrow sometime...or maybe Friday after work.

Nothing wrong with that.

There was a span where I only read sci-fi novels.

Reading the younger books keeps you ahead of the movies coming out. That market is still huge thanks to the Potter franchise.

I also prefer kids books because I hate reading swear words and sex. And kids books are way safe...nothing harmful in there. I don't mind the minor swear words...damn, hell, ass, bitch...you know. Reading swear words is different from hearing them...I feel like they get burned into my brain more if I see them...if I just hear them in the movie...they go in one ear and out the other.

What book am I currently reading? Where shall I start from? After all, I got so many darn books, for Christmas, I don't know which one to pick first. But, I'm so dang sick right now, I can't stare at a book, with tiny words, for too long. So, I haven't picked up a book, to read, in awhile.

I am currently reading a book called "For The Dead Travel Fast". A friend of mine gave it to me for Christmas. It's about a guy (the author, actually) who goes on a quest for vampires. It's funny as hell. The author of the book actually did go on a search for Vampires. The book tells about his travels, his quests (such as watching every vampire movie in existence - which is over 600 movies) and the people that he meets along the way.

Do not go to Romania and order an "American style pizza" though because you will not be getting one. You'll get your pizza, but it won't be an "American style" pizza.

This book actually has some historical facts and some other really interesting things in it as well.

I finished Love in the Time of Cholera finally. It took me about 100 years. hehehe. But seriously, it was super slow.

Now, in continuing my theme of reading really slow books, I'm reading Atonement. And I have to finish it soon since I gotta watch the movie b/f the oscars!
