I bought Wicked while I was over in the US. Gonna read it sometime later, but I have like 20 books in my pile. Not sure where this one's going to stand. I sort of want to finish one of the books that True Blood is based on first. Plus I've got two Odd Thomas books to read (Dean Koontz)...

Meh, I've got to get through this bloody Dexter (Dearly Devoted Dexter) book first. It's taking me ages.

I'm reading One Rainy Night. It's ANOTHER Richard Laymon. I think I've probably read as many of his books as G now. Okay probably not but I've read a lot of them.

Nah dude, no way you've read that many. Have you seen the number of books the dude has, like, for real? I saw how many Laymon books are available in the US - NOT MANY!

I've read the ones that are in bold:

After Midnight
Alarums
Allhallow's Eve
AMARA (To Wake The Dead)
Among The Missing
The Beast House
Beware
Bite
Blood Games
Body Rides
The Cellar
Come Out Tonight
Cuts
Dark Mountain
Darkness, Tell Us
Endless Night
Fiends
Flesh

Friday Night In The Beast House
Funland
The Glory Bus (aka INTO THE FIRE)
A Good, Secret Place
In The Dark
Island
The Lake
Midnight's Lair
Midnight Tour
Night In The Lonesome October
Night Show
No Sanctuary
Once Upon A Halloween
One Rainy Night
Out Are The Lights
Quake
Resurrection Dreams

Savage
The Stake
The Travelling Vampire Show
The Wilds
The Woods Are Dark

As well as some short stories that aren't mentioned here (there are a few that just come in little books. One of them cost me like 30 bucks, and then I was stupid enough to give it to an ex girlfriend who was then my current girlfriend, but I should've asked for it back when I saw that relationship was going down the tube, along with those three Kenny G CDs I loaned her to listen to while she was studying for her HSC exams because I said it helps her to concentrate if you listen to something with no singing in it, and she admitted it worked too).

Man, sped trough 'The Steel Remains'.

Holy shit.

If you read 'Lord Of The Rings' and thought, "you know, this needed more graphic violence, cussing, drug use, and gay sex," then this book might be worth a read.

Dammit. What a weird spin.

I can't say I ever thought of any of that stuff when reading Lord of the Rings.

Lord of the Rings had a bit of gay in it already. I am sure those Hobbits were hot for each other.

Oh that Samewise was definitely hot for Frodo. He'd definitely have Gamgeed his Baggins any day of the week.

Infected, by Scott Sigler

I've never seen a trailer, for a book, like this. It's sorta cool.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTVHic-TXPw&feature=related

Anyway, I'm a little over half-way through this book, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. At the end, there is an exclusive excerpt from the sequel, Contagious. I will get that book next.

Here's the trailer for Contagious:

Reading 'Bank' by a relatively new author. Not bad. Kind of a fun read. Was in the discount bin at Borders. Some funny shit. The synopsis at Amazon explains it better than I can: http://www.amazon.com/Bank-Novel-David-Bledin/dp/031601673X

Finally finished that Dexter book (ended up not being worth it).

I'm now reading The Broken Window by Jeffrey Deaver. It's another Lincoln Rhyme book (after The Bone Collector, The Coffin Dancer, The Empty Room, The Stone Monkey, The Vanished Man, The Twelfth Card and The Cold Moon). So far interesting, but the bits of the story written from the killer's point-of-view are kind of tedious.

That's the trend he uses for the Lincoln Rhyme books. The titles always makes sense. Half the time it's the name of the serial killer, but sometimes it's to do with something else in the story. Haven't come across any broken windows in this book yet, so it's anyone's guess what it means.

I'm reading Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. It's the book True Blood (the TV show) is based on. At least the first season. The second season seems like it might be based on book 2 (Living Dead in Dallas, I think it's called). The book is okay. I don't really like her writing style too much, but it's not terrible. The book is very condensed, and though the TV show was split over 12 episodes the book seems to contain a good chunk of that story.

Terry Pratchett is great. He's way out there, but funny as hell and never the least bit dull.

I quite like the idea of the Great A'Tuin swimming endlessly through space, carrying four giant Elephants upon whose back rest the Discworld. It's a nice idea.

I like Pratchetts style of writing actually. He doesn't use chapters - which is really unique - and though I dont think there are any "laugh out loud" moments in his books they are seriously funny and enjoyable.

The books I've read thus far have been "the Colour of Magic", "the Light Fantastic", "Equal Rites", "Mort" and "Sourcery" and the Book I'm currently reading is "Pyramids", cause I didn't have "Wyrd Sisters" and jumped a head in the publishing order.

There's a discworld video game I used to enjoy, from about... 15 years ago. It's really quite fun.

I don't think I read any of the books in order, I just jumped about here adn there. I'm pretty sure I haven't read two of the novels you mentioned.

There's about 37 novels out now so I've barely scratched the surface of the fandom. I knew there was a game but I've never seen it let alone played it.

I got into the Discworld fandom following Sky TV's version of the "Hogfather", "the Colour of Magic" and "the Light Fantastic" all of which star David Jason (in "the Colour of Magic" and "the Light Fantastic" he was Rincewind to Sean Astin's Twoflower while he played Albert in "the Hogfather" - both were really good but not totally true to the book)
