Brother Odd by Dead Koontz and Lisey's Story by Stephen King. I also crack open American Gothic by Robert Bloch from time to time. It really all depends what room I'm in.

Okay... that's good to know. Then again, I shouldn't even be on here. Yes, I have to be online, because I access everything for my class online... but I need to not be fooling around. I have so much stuff to read before I have to go to class tomorrow night. I took today off, just to do that.

I found the best way to get through text books is to treat them as a subject your deeply interested in... like everything in the book is exciting, and think of how it relates to you.

Even if it's dull as hell, this usually works for me.

Well, actually, I AM interested. I LOVE criminal justice. So, the next two years might be challenging... but, definitely interesting.

I'm reading When Christmas Comes Again, The World War I Diary of Simone Spencer. WHY? am I reading it? SO that I can keep my eyes on the rat bastard 5th graders in my group. If I read it, then I know what is going on and I can make this face at them Suspect

Before school I was reading a vampire series. I don't know the name of the series but the first book was Twilight, the second New Moon and the third was Eclipse. They were absolutely amazing!!!! Anyone heard of them?

Yesterday I started The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. It is so good! I'm also reading The Devil's Horseman by James Chambers and Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison, is I happen to be in the room with them.

I went tp Powell's City of Books the other day and bought a couple books, but I won't be able to read them all before I start college Sad

I had to read Invisible Man in high school. I thought it was pretty good. The fact that I was forced to read it kinda dampened my opinion of the book....

I just finished Lady Susan by Jane Austen. Not one of her popular ones, but it was okay.

yeah, I read that for fun.

Guess it's back to Kafka's The Trial. It's a snorefest.

I can't imagine myself ever bothering to read another Jane Austen book. I read Emma and Pride and Prejudice back in school and wasn't overly fond of either of him.

P&P is my favorite. You definitely have to be able to stomach that kind of snooty writing and old school not-quite-there romance. As much as I love Emma, - the book AND the movie - I think Clueless is way better Smile

Clueless is off the hizzle. I used to have the biggest thing for Stacy Dash.

I'm reading He's Just Not That Into You. This book is funny. But if these letters are real, it's making me hate women. They sound so stupid in here it's hilarious.

Readin "The Electric Church" by a first time novelist named Jeff Somers.

Just cracked it, no real opinion one way or the other right now.

Basic plot is this- sometime in the future, crazy fools called Monks are all robot except for they have human heads. They try to convert people by force to join them. Really bleak, 1984-ish version of the future. Main character is a hitman on the run for not completing a job.

Premise sounded alright. Plus I live giving new authors a chance. That mixed with my 25% off coupon plus $5 in Borders Bucks made it an easy sell.

I started "Forget About It."

I normally don't read "chick lit" - if this can be considered that.... But I read the first book she wrote "Stupid and Contagious" and it was a riot. I'm only hoping the author (caprice crane) doesn't go through the sophomore slump.

Dragons of A Fallen Sun by Margret Weiss and Tracy Hickman

I'm really enjoying it. The Dragonlance series is wonderful.

Now I'm reading Lovely Bones.
This book is super depressing! But I can't put it down.

Let me say something about Ms. Illuminate's book collection: it's like a library. When she says she is reading this book or that book, it's true. She has a cache of books ready to rock. Buys them a handful at a time. Puts one down, the other comes up. It's great.

Me... I buy a book, read a few pages, put it down, buy another, read a few pages, repeat, until I pick up a book I bought a year ago and read it cover to cover. I think I am a retard.

The $300 + I've spent at Borders since this last February should tell you something. It tells you: I have no life.

I think it's cute to see you at the bookstore. All smiles. And her book buying ratio is always in conjunction with mine. If I don't get a book, she'll only get one, maybe two. If I get one, she's up to three or four. If I ever get two books I think there won't be much left in the store Wink

I'm reading "The Pleasure of My Company" by Steve Martin.

I started it while I was waiting at the doctors office today and I'm already 1/4 of the way done. It's pretty silly. I like it so far.
