Ben Stiller as Speedman
Robert Downey Jr. as Kirk Lazarus
Jack Black as Jeff 'Fats' Portnoy

Also featuring Nick Nolte and Bill Hader.

Directed by Ben Stiller

IMDB says: "Through a series of freak occurrences, a group of actors shooting a big-budget war movie are forced to become the soldiers they are portraying."

Also featuring cameos from Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Matthew McConaughey and Tobey Maguire.

Seems to have shades of Three Amigos! I think. Could be great though.

I'm all about this one! How do you find out about all these movies coming out?

I check a few different sites. Cruising IMDB is also good, clicking on different actors and seeing what movies they are filming.

Hmmm. I think you and my little bro would get along. He's all about the movies and I think his favorite website is IMDB. He's always quizzing me on some aspect of a movie. The actors, the first and last lines of a movie, what movie is this line from...that kind of thing. It gets old, but it keeps me on my toes!

Funniest movie this year.

No if, buts or maybes about it.

Writing? Perfect. Direction? Perfect. Acting? Brilliant.

The laugh comes fast and hard whether you're looking for them or not.

The whole thing starts off with something akin to the advertisements that were placed at the beginning of the Tarantino/Rodriguez Grindhouse flick. But funny. Very, very funny.

Jack Black actually made fart jokes funny again. Because, seriously, fart jokes aren't funny. They just aren't. But when you're taking the shit out of the dumbest Eddie Murphy ever (actually, he's probably had worse...) then it's brilliant.

Then it goes back and forth between satirizing war movies and satirizing movies and the movie business in general. It did so very well too...

Oh, and Robert Downey Jr... I mean, what can I say... oh shit, when he was in his Australian persona, I immediately knew... Guy Pierce. Without a doubt, that's who he's supposed to be. Guy Pierce with a bit of Russell Crowe. When he was done up in his black make up... I mean... man, I swear I just... I just forgot it was him all together. He was perfect. It's incredibly racist, but that was really the point.

I mean... holy shit... I didn't know what I was walking into with this one... it was fantastic.

The whole Simple Jack thing with Ben Stiller's character was... well... offensive. Offensive and hilarious. When Robert Downey Jr's character explained why it didn't work because he went full retard instead of part way, I was in tears from laughing so much. My chest was heaving and I was in great pain.

And, damn... Tom Cruise... I mean... you know!?!?! Oh man...

And Ben Stiller playing with that severed head..... gross, but hilarious.

PS. The Chinese enemy in this movie... well, their chinese was worse than mine. Seriously. I think they were like 'you know what, this'll do' and didn't bother to check accents or pronounciation. Robert Downey Jr's bit where he spoke Chinese was pretty hilarious though.

Loved it too. Favorite comedy of the year, easily.

I was reading this article, and someone had an idea about this flick I can't shake. They mentioned that Ben Stiller and Matthew McConaughey should have switched roles. Can't seem to kick that now.

Hmm... yeah, that would have worked... I thought the way he did it was alright though. It might be that Stiller's a bit shorter and doesn't really come across as the action star that McConaughey could pull off. But they were both fine in their roles.

"Mama, I'll see you again tonight in my head movies. But this head movies makes my eyes rain!"

It's funny because that's the kind of dumb shit hack writers put in movies about the mentality handicapped. So contrived it's funny.

I have no complaints. I just laugh when I see Stiller do these silly pseduo tough guy roles.

Downey Jr. made the movie though. Hands down.

Downey's acting in this movie... I mean, for real... he won't get best actor, but he deserves it. He full deserves it because I haven't seen a performance like that from anyone, ever. My respect for the man's abilities has gone through the roof.

An Australian guy playing a black dude. Excellent. So glad that Downey Jr. is back. Never go full 'tard. Comedy.

Downey's going to be the highest paid actor pretty soon. You just wait and see.

Wait... if he's not already.

No backup on this, but I would assume that Clooney, Pitt, Damon, Pacino, De Niro, Nicholson all pull in more cash.

Could be.

How can shit like Oceans Eleven afford to pull in Clooney and Pitt, though? They made three of the fucking things, and I doubt they made that much.

But all those old dudes are on the way out, aren't they? I mean... how many of them are really bankable anymore. Pacino, maybe. But all of them have just started playing nothing but old uncles or grandfathers and shit in lame movies that dont blow shit up. If I was an exec, I wouldn't give them 20 or 25 million for that.

Pitt and Clooney need into a hot movie soon. The last movie I saw them both in was a piece of shit. That one with the gym and some espionage and blackmail shit... I don't even remember what it was called.

DiCaprio I should still hope pulls in mad money. He's always solid.

I think Keanu Reeves brings in good money, but it's probably not warranted. But more power to him.
