The guy was swimming 150 yards in. That's Shark territory for sure. Sharks don't eat people, they eat seals and fish. The shark attacks supposedly occur b/c the shark thinks people are seals. It was just being the predator that it is. You can't blame the shark for that. And you can't blame the guy for that either. I doubt he was taunting the shark pretending to be a seal. It was just an accident. I don't think you need to go kill the shark because of that. If you go into the ocean you know you're taking a risk.

I'm with Karla. The shark was only doing what it knows. The guy was in the ocean. If you go out that far, you have to know that you're risking things. When I was in Hawaii, we got attacked by a huge grouping of jelly fish. It wasn't their fault. We were in their home. I didn't enjoy it... but, I wasn't going to go balls blazing after them, and kill them. Now, if they came into my home, that would be a different story all together.

There is an Insurance trade show going on at the San Diego Convention center from Monday till Tuesday. I got a call to go to an exhibitor's booth and fix the power. I get to the booth and it has a giant sign with a guy sitting on a peir with a great white jumping out of the water about to eat him. There was also a catch-phrase involving risk management that escapes me. I tell the guy '' Bad timing on the poster eh?'' He had no idea what I was talking about. After I told him about the attack he says ''no wonder nobody wants to talk to me, I havent done any business all day!''

Well, maybe he can take that down and make some business happen now. And he will have you to thank.
