PostSubject: Dekka's 'The Dark Knight' Review   Sat Jul 19, 2008 10:27 am

I never get this excited about movies.

But I bought tickets yesterday for the new Batman movie at my lunch break at work to make sure I'd get a ticket for that evening.

It was perfect. It lived up to and surpassed my expectations. I don't have a single complaint.

It's a long one. Two and a half hours. But that's a good thing. Partway through the movie it looked like things were wrapping up, and I was kind of sad. I wanted more. But then it kept going. It was an absolute pleasure to watch. I did have to pee pretty bad at the end though, but it was a small price to pay.

The Joker was fucken scary man. Especially if you're afraid of clowns. Which I'm not, but some people are, and this movie certainly won't cure that fear. He was a violent, sadistic man, but they kept the violence off screen or implied. I like that. I'm not a big fan of gore.

The love story wasn't too cheesy, they kept it to a minimum. The ending isn't happily-ever-after, and I respect that. And there was more fun thrown in the movie than I knew was going to be in there. Seeing movies in the theatre is expensive, but it was worth the 11 bucks this time (especially since I refrained from buying popcorn).

My only problem at this point is... WHEN'S THE NEXT ONE COMING OUT??!??!?!

The pencil trick was the best.

I jumped and put my hand over my eye. Definitely gross. Glad it wasn't graphic.

I read it here first this morning, so I was prepared for it, but it was still a freaky shocking moment.

I totally wasn't prepared for it... ouch ouch ouch...

One thing I should mention is Yoyo was complaining about the chick who plays Rachel now... reason being she looks at least 10 years older than Katie Holmes.

That's because Katie Holmes looks like she's 15. I am so glad that chick wasn't in this movie.

Is that Tom Cruises woman? If so was she in Superman? Is she in both?

Holmes is Mrs. Cruise. She wasn't in Superman, that was Kate Bosworth.

This chick in this one was aight, but I didn't mind her getting blown up. She went for Dent, gave Batman the Dear John letter, she had it comin.

She kind of has a dopey face. I wasn't mad when she was gone. Although she did alright in the movie, I think she was the worst overall.

I was surprised when Rachel got blown up.

Did I feel sad about it? No...

I wish the movie had made me care.

God, I am glad to know that I am not the only one who didn't care for the Rachel character. I hated it, when she blew off Bruce in the first movie, and in this one the actress resembled Katie Holmes just enough that it was a distraction.

I think Batman/Bruce can do better.

That pencil trick was the bomb! Totally didn't see the result of it coming... but damn, it was fan-fucking-tastic.
