From my experience, smoking herbs also enhances the flavor of the food tongue

It no doubt makes pringles and cheetos taste like filet minion and lobster.

Well tonight Brian and I are celebrating two years together. (Technically it was on Wed but he was out of town on business.) So I made manicotti (the first dish I ever cooked for him) and made a red velvet cake from scratch..... but the damn thing stuck to the pan so we have most of a cake with crumblies on top. Maybe I can set the crumbs to the side and then frost the cake and then sprinkle the crumbs on top. Maybe it will look like some sort of cake art. Haha. Ah well.

Just made some walnut chicken and white rice. The kids love it. It is chicken marinaded in cooking Sherry, soy sauce with a bit of salt and sugar, coated, fried lighly to brown, then steamed until done. The oil has garlic and ginger in it. yummmmmm

Even though it got a little crumbly, I bet that the taste was very yummy. Red velvet is one of my favorite kinds of cake.

It's my favorite too. Hopefully I can figure out how to make it not stick the next time so it won't crumble.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, cake. I think I could eat the whole cake in one sitting.

Hey, I never ate any because it's got gross animals parts in it, but when I feed the dogs, that dog food looks mighty tasty. I'm sure it tastes like dog food. Only thing is I have no idea what dog food tastes like.

One of you people try it out for me, let me know.

Not it. Although my mom has a recipe for dog treats that are totally edible. I actually tried a nibble of one once. It's just like a beefy cookie. Have no idea if they taste anything like processed dog food though.

I ate a dog treat once. It was a "scooby snack" and I remembered that Shaggy always ate those, so I figured that these were people-food. I was young and stupid. It was awful!

It's still in the making-and-baking process right now, but I have some yummy zucchini bread in my near future.

I made some beef stew.

Deep cast iron pan, browned the meat with garlic and onions; then added beef broth, enough water to reach the top of the pan, potatoes, carrots, corn, green onions, and a stew seasoning packet. I cheat and use the seasoning packet Smile

Turned out just right for a cold and rainy day.

I wish I always had some stew on hand without having to go to the trouble of making it.

I'm makin' chicken soup. The last time I made it, it got eaten so quickly that there wasn't much left for leftovers. Today I'm making a quadruple batch.

Canned chicken broth
Rotisserie chicken I got from the Winco deli
Chopped carrots, potato, celery and onion
Canned corn

Low sodium versions of all the canned stuff. Fresh vegetables for the chopped stuff.

I think that's about it. No rice or noodles. Trying to cut back on carbs. The bam-bam-bam-bam of Halloween-Thanksgiving-Christmas-Super Bowl holiday season sure adds the weight. I have to diet back down in the weeks between each event.

I used to make my own chicken broth by stewing a chicken carcass overnight, then I discovered pre-made broth. Very Happy

I got a beef gyro at arbys. I was surprized at how good it was. I thought it would suck.

There's an Arby's near my work and the stuff that they advertise on their billboard hat thing all sounds tasty.

I rarely frequent Arbys. Some of it is good, most of it is over-hyped. And it costs a lot for fast food.

I do enjoy the sides. The roast beef stuff is not roast beef. It's something that is making a fast food claim at being roast beef. It's more like "let us thin slice some spam material and call it roast beef".

The Reuben is good. If you are not comparing it to a real one at a real restaurant.

That's why I was happy to really enjoy the beef gyro. It was a welcome treat*** and it surprised me at how good it was.

***For fast food of course.....***
