Plot Synopsis

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Norbit, (Eddie Murphy), is an African-American male who was abandoned as a baby on the doorstep of a Chinese restaurant, the Golden Wonton, owned by Mr. Wong (Eddie Murphy). Mr. Wong later converts the restaurant into an orphanage and raises Norbit. During elementary school, Norbit was bullied by a mean child Rasputia (Eddie Murphy), who later became his girlfriend. As an adult, he is forced to marry Rasputia by her three imposing older brothers: Big Jack (Terry Crews), Earl (Clifton Powell), and Blue (Lester "Rasta" Speight). A dilemma occurs when Kate (Thandie Newton), Norbit's crush from childhood returns to town.

I've heard good, and bad, on this movie. Like the fact that Eddie's movie, Dreamgirls, is up for an academy award... and that this movie could cause him to lose it, because it's back to being a funny goof-off. I would hope not.

If this movie is as good as the Nutty Professor... how all the different characters that Eddie played, goofed off of each other, then it will be a blast.

I heard nothing but shitty reviews of this movie. That being said, I will still probably see it. I am a huge Eddie Murphy fan. I really hope he just doesn't do Klump-style multiple character movies from now on though.

It worked in "Coming To America", but it was sprinkled throughout the movie. "The Nutty Professor" was freakin' classic and I don't see how he could top it.

-HECK!

It will be some time now, before I'm in a theatre... but, I would still want to see this one, because, like you, I am a Eddie murphy fan. The guy is just funny.
